Moments that matter
Creative director for Kodak, 2015 to 2016
Creative director for Kodak, 2015 to 2016
The category is flat. Moments are not, and the picture you want on the wall is often the blurry one. So the camera roll got sorted by moment rather than date.
A prototype: a feed organized by emotional moments, your photos dropped into lifestyle scenes, gift suggestions from Facebook events, and a checkout that keeps the product picture in the viewport from launch to purchase.
Portal's seat, working with Kodak. I designed the product experience and the brand expression in 2015. Kodak shipped a lighter build within two months in 2016, and it was adopted quickly. The strategic identity survived.
Product in Hand
A feed of moments rather than products: Family Love, Forget Me Not. Your photo is already hanging in the room in the picture. The print you are buying stays on screen to the receipt.

Product in Life
The blurry one from Annie's birthday is the one you want on the wall. The app finds it, hangs it in a room so you can see it there, and ships the print. You never chose a mug.

Product in Culture
A phone holds every picture you have taken and none of them are on a wall. The category answered with a transaction and a feed sorted by date. Algorithms are clever. They would never pick a blurry photo.
